General Contracting
Facility Renovations
This project included the renovation of (7) facilities for Peoples Gas & Light (PGL), North Shore Gas (NSG) and WEC Business Service, LLC (WEC). Scopes of work included branch circuiting for new power and low voltage security systems (surveillance, access control, & intrusion detection), demolition of old indoor and outdoor infrastructure, new exterior high security vehicle gates and barrier arms, high security fencing, new concrete curbs, bollards, foundations, asphalt paving, and installation of new hollow metal frame doors & hardware.
Pullman Monument Roof and Windows Renovation
BlackRock served as the General Contractor to provide roof replacement and window restoration for the historic Pullman National Monument Administrative Building.
Concrete projects
Consolidated Car Rental Facility
The Consolidated Car Rental Facility (CONRAC) is a 3,000,000 gsf parking structure that will house both rental and privately owned vehicles. BlackRock Construction furnished and installed 3,000 cubic yards of topping slab, sidewalks, and curbs.
Salt Barn and Material Storage Structure
In the summer of 2016 the ISTHA constructed a new 13,000 sf Salt Barn and Material Storage bin structure at their M6 location in Marengo - Hampshire IL. BlackRock Construction furnished and installed 1,000 cubic yards of footings, walls, and pavement for this structure.
Fullerton and Lakeshore Drive
The scope of this project included the installation of 10,000 cubic yards of concrete revetments and 900,000 pounds of rebar for the new Promenade and revetment expansion at Fullerton and Lakeshore Drive. The project was created by the city of Chicago, Army Corp of Engineers, and the park district and added six acres of new park space along the lakefront and a new path for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Metra Calumet Project
Provided the electrical and concrete work for the south headhouse for the Metra Calumet project in East Hazel Crest, IL. Our concrete division framed and poured the wall cap, stairs, landings, and completed the slab on grade along with providing ADA tiles for compliance.
